So the other day i decided to try my hand at making Ham and Cheese crepes for the boyfriend as it appears to be his favourite food at the moment.
For this recipe i used: 120g of plain flour, 325ml of milk, 1 large egg, a small sprinkling of salt and a tiny bit of butter for the pan.
First you have to weigh the ingredients then put the flour into a mixing bowl, then add the egg and milk. Then you start the mixing process and make sure you get out all of the lumps! Then you add the butter to your pan and heat up on a medium setting.
Don't set it too hot as crepes are thin and if it is too hot it will burn them very quickly.
For mixing if i had had a whisk it would have been much easier so i suggest if you are going to make this recipe which makes 2-4 crepes by the way! I suggest getting a whisk or a blender though!
I must go and purchase a blender!!
Then you have to place the ingredients into the pan starting from the middle, then you have to take the pan off the heat and swirl the mixture so it completely covers the surface of the pan. Then you have to cook it on one side for roughly 1-2 minutes. After this you will then have to pry at the sides and get ready for flipping. Once flipped, cook the other side for 1-2 minutes. Then they will be ready to take off the hob!I added ham and cheese for mine but you can add anything your heart desires. Crepes can be made as a savoury dish or sweet!
I don't actually think they came out too bad :) I impressed myself, and the boyfriend said they tasted great! I will definitely be practicing this recipe a lot more often though to get them perfect :)
Thank you for reading
