Hello,
Noble is obsessed with the Starbucks –
Mocha Frappuccino iced coffees, which are usually about £1.80 a pop for a
little bottle, which he can be found drinking at least two one after the other!
So for a more cost effective way to deal with this and to maybe have some
stored in the fridge for whenever the mood takes him, I’ve decided to try my
own hand at trying to make a replica of the Mocha Frappuccino. It will of
course not be exactly the same, but fingers crossed it at least helps Noble with
the cravings of this coffee!
I found the below recipe online through
food.com but I’m going to edit it slightly to be adapted for the way I know
Noble likes it. All the items below that in bold are the steps and ingredients I
have used.
Ingredients:
3 cups of espresso coffee (709.77ml to be
exact)) I used Starbucks medium blend
¾ cup sugar (177.44ml to be exact)
4 cups milk (946.36ml to be exact) I used
Cravendale semi-skimmed
¾ cup hot chocolate (177.44ml to be exact)
I used Twinnings – Hot Chocolate
Whipped cream for topping
Chocolate syrup for topping
Servings – 8
1)
Make coffee, follow directions for your
favourite brand of espresso roast coffee.
2)
Mix coffee, still hot and sugar in your
mixer until sugar is dissolved.
3)
Add milk and hot chocolate and continue
mixing about one minute.
4)
Pour mix into a sealable container for easy
storage
5)
Store in fridge until ready to use (Do not
store any longer than you would milk)
6)
To make drink, combine equal parts mix and ice in a blender and
blend on a high until smooth.
7)
Pour into glasses
8)
Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle with chocolate
syrup.
9)
Serve.
Noble isn’t in to all the whipped cream or
drizzling with chocolate syrup so all of those stages I have just scribbled
out.
This is the photographs of my processes and
the end result:
Noble – Apparently the mix I made was very
similar to the original and Noble really enjoyed it. For this weekend I need to
make another batch for him!
We just kept it in a pour container in the
door of the fridge and we also didn’t add ice as it was cool enough at fridge
temperature for Noble.
Thank you for reading
Katy
