Hello,
Days 4 – 7 – Stage Two
According to my app this morning I have
quit now officially for 7.31days and I have saved £36.45 (I am writing this
post on 08th January even though it’s being posted on the 13th.
I am behind with these so I am not bombarding you with continuous updates on my
“non-smoker” life.
Last time I posted I said how I wasn’t
finding myself as hungry as I thought I was going to be, but hell that has
changed. I am finding myself needing more food more regularly.
My sleeping pattern however has slightly
improved, still not going to bed as early as I would like but at least I am not
waking up so much during the night now.
These past few days however I have been
suffering from quite a tight chest, along with a very sore throat and very achy
ears. Which I am presuming is a cold brewing as my immune system will be in
shock due to my body not getting its daily nicotine allowance anymore.
All of the above symptoms are fairly common
to occur during the time of stopping smoking, even though they may sound
slightly scary.
One thing I’ve noticed in this stage also,
it is very bizarre, but Walkers, ready salted crisps taste totally different,
now I’m not sure if they have changed taste recently, or they have just always
tasted like this and it was masked due to the smoking, I am unsure. However I am
now unsure, if I like this flavour of crisps anymore, which is kind of
depressing slightly as they were my go to crisp!
Cravings wise, they come and go but a lot
less frequently than they were in days 0-3. One other thing I have noticed that
is affecting me quite a lot is my mood is going up and down all the time and I feel
more stressed than usual. This is of course another symptom of quitting
smoking, so this should hopefully pass in the next couple of week.
Every couple of days I am posting up
screenshots of my smoking app with my progress over at my instagram account, if
you want to follow more closely.
My next stop smoking update will be posted
sometime in the week of the 20th January on the blog.
Are you starting the year by stopping
smoking? How are you finding it?
Thank you for reading
Katy
